Choosing the Right Approach
Choose Training Central if:
You want to monitor student eLearning progress in real-time
You prefer to see completion status in a dashboard rather than waiting for certificates
You manage large volumes of students and want centralized tracking
Choose Without Training Central if:
You’re comfortable receiving completion certificates from students via email
You have a smaller student volume where manual tracking is manageable
You want to minimize the number of systems you need to manage
Example Use Cases
Scenario 1: Training Center with Training Central
A busy training center teaching 50+ students per month sets up a Training Central account. They purchase 100 heartcode key codes from the American Heart Association. In Hovn, they add “HeartCode BLS” from the Material Catalog, paste their key codes from Training Central, and attach the material to their BLS course. Students receive key codes automatically through their Student Portal. The training center copies codes from Hovn back to Training Central to monitor student eLearning progress.
Scenario 2: Small Training Provider Without Training Central
A new training provider teaching 10–15 students per month purchases key codes directly from the American Heart Association via email. They add the material from Hovn’s Material Catalog, paste the key codes from their AHA purchase email, and attach it to their course. Students receive key codes through the Student Portal with clear access instructions provided by Hovn. Students send completion certificates to the provider via email after finishing their eLearning.
Important Notes
Purchase Source: You always purchase key codes from AHA (American Heart Association) or your Training Center, not from Hovn
Material Catalog: Hovn includes a pre-built catalog with all standard AHA materials — just search and select
Auto-Fill Descriptions: When you select a material from the catalog, Hovn automatically fills in the description and access instructions
Student Portal Delivery: Key codes are automatically delivered to students through their Student Portal with clear instructions
Low Inventory Alerts: You can enable notifications to alert you when you’re running low on key codes
One-Time Setup: Materials are created once and can be attached to multiple courses
Training Central Integration: You can copy codes from Hovn to track progress in Training Central if you have an account
No Wrong Choice: Either approach (with or without Training Central) works perfectly with Hovn
