Managing Notification Email Preferences

Learn how to customize which email addresses receive copies of important notifications from your Hovn account.

Overview

Notification Preferences allow you to control where email notifications are sent for different types of activities in your Hovn account. Instead of all notifications going to your default contact email, you can route different notification types to specific team members or departments.

Available for: Service Provider Admins


What You Can Configure

Hovn supports custom email routing for four notification categories:

1. Booking Notifications

Receive copies when students book, cancel, or reschedule classes.

  • Booking confirmations

  • Booking cancellations

  • Booking reschedules

2. Order Notifications

Stay informed about order activity and payment requests.

  • Order confirmations

  • Payment request emails

3. Material Notifications

Get alerts about your training material inventory.

  • Low inventory warnings for materials

4. Training Request Notifications

Never miss a potential customer inquiry.

  • New training request submissions from your public course page


How to Set Up Notification Preferences

Step 1 — Navigate to Settings

  • Log in to your Hovn admin dashboard

  • Go to Settings from the left sidebar

  • Click on Notifications

Step 2 — Add Email Addresses

  • For each notification category, you can add up to 3 email addresses

  • Click the Add email button to add a new recipient

  • Enter a valid email address

  • Click the trash icon to remove an email address

Step 3 — Save Your Changes

  • Click Save at the bottom of the form

  • You’ll see a confirmation message when your settings are updated


Important Notes

Behavior

  • Without custom emails (default): A copy of notifications will be sent to your organization’s contact email (the email set in your general settings).

  • With custom emails: Only your custom emails will receive copies — your contact email will no longer be automatically included.

  • Important: Students/clients always receive their notifications. Custom emails only control who on your team gets a copy.

Multiple Recipients

You can add up to 3 email addresses per notification category to ensure the right team members stay informed.

Instant Updates

Changes take effect immediately after saving.

Training Requests Are Different

While booking, order, and material notifications are sent as BCC (blind carbon copy), training request notifications go directly TO the specified email addresses.

Troubleshooting

Not Receiving Notifications?

  • Check your spam folder — notification emails may be filtered by your email provider.

  • Verify email addresses — make sure there are no typos in the email addresses you entered.

  • Check your contact email — if no custom emails are set, notifications go to your organization's default contact email


Need to Change Who Receives Notifications?

Simply return to Settings → Notifications, update the email addresses, and click Save. Changes take effect immediately for all new notifications.
